The Old Guard Has Got To Die

. . .Before there will be change, "The Old Guard Has Got To Die Off"! Watch the video and think about the impact of this statement within the MoHo community? I don't mean this in a bad way, but I do think that we will see things change when the next generation takes more leadership roles within the church.

No wonder I love Judge Judy!

  1. So true, so true. With all the crap that goes on in the world, we should be encouraging more of the stability provided by monogamous marriage between two consenting parties, no matter what form it takes.

It is interesting that she talked about the confusion surrounding the words "yes" and "no" on the ballot. Now that I think about it, most (if not all) ballot measures surrounding gay marriage in the United States had the pro-same sex marriage standpoint as "no". That might have a psychological effect on people, who think that by voting "yes", they are preserving marriage, instead of denying some consenting parties the right to monogamously marry as they please. I must give the "traditional marriage" crowd props for having the initiative to be putting their agenda up for a vote. Maybe to counter that, we must have some kind of initiative to put out a different proposition with Same-Sex marriage being a "yes".

  2. I agree, the old guard in the church needs to die off before we'll see a change in the church.

  3. I've been thinking about it...and I wonder whether the replacing of the old guard would really change anything. I'm afraid the current teachings might perpetuate themselves, since those with more tolerant viewpoints would have an uphill battle making it on top of the Church hierarchy. As we all know, they are the ones who make "receive the revelations". I'm in a "wait, hope, and see" mode for right now.
